  • Jotul GF400 Sebago BV

The Jotul GF 400 Sebago BV is a medium-sized stove that will heat like a large stove and offers up to 40,000 BTU!

The Jøtul GF 400 Sebago combines a modern inlay cast iron double door design with state of the art combustion technology. This stove's nautical styling recalls the coves and shores of Lake Sebago, locked amid the rock and pines of Maine. Fueled by the new pan style JøtulBurner™ and the  Sebago presents the perfect union of high efficiency and timeless design. With a new 7 piece hand crafted log set and enhanced fireview. The BV version can only be vented into your existing chimney, either masonry or Class-A (steel) chimney with a 4" aluminum flex liner. BV stoves are only available in automatic valve (standing pilot) and colors are limited to matte black or majolica brown, while DV stoves can be purchased with IPI valves (electronic valves) and have a wider range of enamel finishes, including majolica brown, blue black, as well as the standard matte black finish. A new white enamel finish will be available in the fall of 2019.

Popular options include wall thermostat, blower kit (120 CFM), reversible brick liner (Antique Red & Brownstone), available in 3 colors (Majolica Brown enamel, Blue Black enamel or Classic Matte Black Paint).

What are the benefits of  automatic valves and IPI valves?

The automatic valve (standing pilot ignition system) uses a push-button piezo ignitor to light a pilot flame. The pilot flame generates a small millivolt current, which controls the valve and ignites the main burner. This allows the stove to operate without the need for electricity or a battery back-up system! Millivolt valves are preferable in high wind areas, such as on the ocean. IPI (Intermittent Pilot Ignition) or electronic valves allow for more features on the stove, such as the ability to regulate the flame height, turn on accent lighting, and to control a blower fan, all via the remote. With automatic/standing pilot valves, flame height and blower control are done manually at the stove, and accent lighting is not available. IPI valves will work in power outages with AA-batter back-up. Both IPI and automatic valve stoves can be set to thermostats or use thermostatic remote controls to control the room temperature and turn on and off the stove. Safety barrier screens come standard, and the white the firebox is housed behind a glass window, the doors of the stove can be opened to replicate an open-door flame viewing experience.
